Sorry guys, I am having trouble with the wifi and I cant get any more pic up right now- I have more i wanted to show you from today but may be tonight.
Our first day was a getting to know the teams, overview and plan for the week. We got to sleep in 8am π and spend some time checking out the Manna house we are staying in this week. This group that I am with is really 3 small groups from different churches so its quite the mix of people and a lot of getting to know each other but we have all started blending really well. This afternoon we went to Antigua to do some shopping and have lunch. It was this amazing little old town that was filled with all kinds of shops and restaurants. I had this little girl that kept following me around today trying to get me to buy stuff from her. I felt bad I was not looking for anything but every time I turned around she would be around me. I started thinking about how she was probably only 7 years old and thats what she did at lest on the weekends maybe not all week but it was her job. I watched as a guy gave her a dollar to take her pic because she was a cute little Guatemala girl..the look on her face after…well I will let you see for yourself below. I just hope that her life will be touched so that she can find true fulfillment in the one who loves her more then she will ever know!
After the events in town we went to church at Santuario where Manna has a feeding center and church. I enjoyed hearing some of the same worship songs we sing on sunday but this time in spanish. We did hang out after and do some balloons and other things with the kids. It was funny, last night one of the guys on the team was making some ballon animals and I had a flash back to Kenya when I made them and the kids all went crazy for them! I told him some of the stories I have had with them and we came up with a plan on how to make them and not get run over by kids wanting them. We had great meal back at the Manna house and did some prep work for our first clinic day tomorrow. One thing we were challenged to think about what is God vision for my life? When God puts hard things in our life its hard and scary but if we are willing to push through the hard obstacles in stead of retreating when its hard He makes it worth it. So this week I am asking how can you use me and help me not to run from it! Thats not just for me…Its for you too…You can ask the same question but are you ready to hear it and not run from it? I am seeking what is next in life and what Gods vision for my life is.
Started off the morning with getting to know you and Bruce gave us a challenge for the week.
This is where I blog from at night =)
