La Gomera

First day of clinic and we were off to an early start! We traveled just over 2hr to a town called La Gomera where we spent the day cleaning and pulling teeth at the Manna feeding center. Thats it – thats how I spent my day…ok…so maybe there was a little more to my day then that but I am going to use my pic to help me tell the journey today.

The drive to La Gomera was well spent talking to Chuck from Manna learning more all the ministries they have going on in this area. The drive was really beautiful as well.

when we arrived at the center there were a few kids that came up to say hi to us- I went to give this girl a high five and she just got the biggest smile on her face and then lunged to wrap her arms around me! wow I haven’t had a welcome like that in forever! The love from that little girl only grew as the day went on.

We knew that things were going to be tight because of space but it was TIGHT! We were fine till it started raining later in the day…then it just made for new challenges!

This little guy was out across the way from us, there was this little cement slab that he spent a lot of the day sitting, watching and playing on.

Karen, was a special little girl who did an outstanding job dealing with having two really big teeth pulled. She was one of our longest extraction today. She won over my heart when she took her pic with Ben (the guy I was working with today) and was not smiling and then with me she tried so hard to smile with all that stuff in her mouth! haha! So thats not all true…she had a special place in my heart before the pic thing went down!

Right next door to where we were pulling teeth was this Grandma in the hammock reading her bible…I thought to myself…in all this craziness she still takes the time to stop and go to God. I need to remember that event if I have something that is really big I need to remember to stop.

we were event able to clean her teeth! She did an outstanding job and had great teeth!

This is the part of the blog you wont want to to look at bc the last pic is a med pic

We meet this little girl Alicia she is three and has had lots of med problems and her parents took her to the Doc and they treated her but they cant afford the meds she needs. We were able to help get her the meds she needs to her live but her kiddies are failing. The Doc think that with the meds it will help her pull out of this but she needs our prayer. She is 3 but looks like she is 18months. Please pray for her and her family
