How to make ice cream in 95° weather!

(Please note Ben wrote the blog today.)

On Monday morning we spent time at the Vipingo campus. We first toured the new Child Rescue Center established by Manna Worldwide. The Child Rescue Center is currently home to three orphans. Three month old Moses, the newest arrival, was abandoned near the Vipingo campus and is being loved on and cared for by the house mom of the Rescue Center. This care is made possible thru charitable donation to Manna WorldWide.

We spent the rest of the morning teaching all eight classes the bible story of Jesus feeding the 5000 thousand. The twist to the lesson was during this lesson the children made ice cream from cream, sugar vanilla and a little ice and salt. We had so much fun making and eating the ice cream. For some students, it was their first time eating ice cream. Some students didn’t even want to touch the bag because it was very cold.

After visiting the Vipingo campus, the Team headed over to the Bomani campus and made ice cream with all the classes. We had so much fun watching the students eat ice cream and make a mess. It was such a blessing to see the faces of those children who had never tried ice cream and watching them fall in love with this creamy treat.
