If I had to sum up today in one word it would have to be blessed.
It was an outstanding honor to be able to be apart of the graduation festivities today. It all started out in Kenyon fashion….we were late! We finally made it to Vipingo where we were rushed in as they were ready to start on time.
The ceremony was full of joy and excitement for the graduates. Song, dance and some nice speeches were given for them but I have to say that my favorite part was when teacher Nicole called mom and I up to the front to cut the cake. It was just like a wedding, we cut the cake all together (few students, teachers and us) and then they fed mom and I a piece of it. After that the whole fox river team came up and feed a small slice to each graduate. It was hysterical. We really had no idea what we were doing.
For me it wasn’t till the end when it was hard not to cry…my mom got up in the end and said a simple prayer. Here we are in Kenya, Africa with a class of students that have a great education and have a chance to make a great impact in their community. God has used mom in a great way to reach the people of Kenya all in the name of Jesue Christ.
I had a girl bring me a picture yesterday that brought it full circle for me. About 5 years ago I had taken a Polaroid photo with her when she was vary small, yesterday she brought that photo to show me. I looked at the picture and then looked at her….where did that little girl go? She was all grown up…then it hit so hard today…this is it. Now is the time…mom praying over the class that just 8 years ago started on a journey with us…now they are leaving the nest ready to test out their wings.
I want to say thank you to you! Without you guys I would not have been able to take the trips that I have and made the lasting memory’s I have. I pray God has used me to impact those I have come in contact for Him while I have been here.

The kids got things they need for high school instead of a trophy or ribbon.

Teacher Nicole who almost wasn’t still with us this year due to a health problem.
Then took a nap with Richard today one of the little boys from the rescue center. I asked Ben if we could bring him home and he said yes!
(So sad that Kenya is a closed adoption country)
The cooks that made the special meal for the graduates and their family!
I thought it was really sweet how the families came up and put the garland and signs around their kids after they graduated.
Here we are cutting the cake not a traditional American way we cut the entire cake all of us!!!
My turn with Richired!
