We Made It!

30hrs of travel, 3 flights, and one snow delay and we are finally at our hotel in Kenya!!

Other then sitting on the plane for three hours waiting to take off from turkey because of the snow on the runway and being deiced two times all in all it was a good trip. It started out with a good old fashion passport check once we were pulling up to O’Hare. To which grandpa responded well I don’t have my passport you have my passport Denise we all turn and look at her as the look of terror comes over her face. No dad your passport was on the counter at home to which she replied I thought you had my passport…. you could see the wheels turning in my mom’s head as she was trying to come up with a plan of what we can do to try to get grandpa’s passport when he starts chuckling and says of course I got my passport!! The whole car breathe a sigh of relief and started laughing, we knew we were in for a great trip.

Most of us were able to rest for a few hours at least on the plane all except for grandpa he decided that he was going to binge watch a few TV shows!!! Needless to say were all a bit tired and worn down from the trip over. It’s almost 8 AM here and we’re going to try to rest and shower and head out around noon to go see our kids at the rescue center in Vipingo.
