After a year God has brought me back to Kenya and what an adventure it has started off to be! My parents and I started this journey on sun night after an eventful day I know I was happy to just get on the plane to sleep! We arrived safe and Sound on Tue at 5:30am! We took the day head on….and I think the day one….ha! We spent the day working on preparing things, picking things up, saying hello to friends and checking out ongoing projects. It was a day of fun but I know I was just happy to make it to the end of dinner last night.
Today we jumped right in! The pastor’s conference was in full swing where dad was teaching at all day while mom and I were taking all of the kids and staff pictures. So when you take pictures in America what do you say to get people to smile? Cheese! Yep but here when you tell kids “say cheese” they just make a funny face at you….So I would have them say “chapatti” bc it makes you smile or show your teeth. (chapatti is a flat bread) The Kids found it so funny and some of them would laugh so much I couldn’t take their pictures. Now as I walk around the campus kids all say chapatti and smile really big at me. Its such a blessing to get to take the My Gift for Jesus pictures and have a touch on each Childs life. I was able to spend the rest of my afternoon running around with the kids.
The pastors conference where Paul was hosting a Q&A time
This is Monica the matron at Vipingo, she was cooking for all our kids and the pastors!
Other women from the community came to help with the cooking.
Love the pic were the kids were laughing so hard!
